These leaked photos appear to be of a model that is very close to a final production unit. They match up with all of our previous photos. This time we can see the display is on, which gives us a good look at the size of the display notch. It does indeed appear to be quite noticeable, especially with a white background. The chunky notch also makes the status bar very thick.
The video gives us a good look at the packaging and what’s included in the box. Surprisingly, Google is including a pair of USB Type-C headphones with a Pixel Buds-like design. The Google Pixel 3 will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so this will be a nice option for those who prefer wired headphones. A standard USB-C to 3.5mm adapter will also be included in the box.
The Device Information screen confirms that it will be running Android 9 Pie with an 8-core Qualcomm processor (likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845), 4GB of RAM, and a screen resolution of 1440×2960. That doesn’t leave much left to the imagination in terms of the Google Pixel 3 XL. We haven’t seen the smaller Google Pixel 3 nearly as much, but you can expect the same packaging. The notch is clearly going to be a divisive feature. What are your thoughts on it after seeing these photos?
