Like clockwork, the famous clone maker GooPhone has churned out yet another copy of a highly anticipated device before the original even started shipping. This time, it’s the incredibly oft leaked ‘cheap iPhone’, which is only cheaper, not actually cheap. Yes, we’re talking about the iPhone 5C that Apple unveiled not ten days ago.
And just in case the price of this handset is too much for you, but you still want something that looks exactly the same – GooPhone is here for the rescue. So ladies and gentlemen, meet the GooPhone i5C. An iPhone 5C clone that’s already available in China, and has even been reviewed on video by one lucky (?) buyer.
The GooPhone i5C shares only its looks with Apple’s smartphone, of course. In terms of specs, it’s an entirely different story. The clone comes with a 4-inch 540×960 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, and a 2,000 mAh battery. It runs an unspecified version of Android with an iOS7 skin applied on top.
If you’re in China (or in a place in which imports of fake goods aren’t frowned upon), you can get your hands on the GooPhone i5C for around $100-$120, depending on retailer. Now that’s a cheap iPhone! Except, you know, it’s not.
