You’ve read the title, now read the superflous explanatory article!
But in case it’s all to opaque for you, there was a contest where you could shoot (and preferably edit) a film entirely on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad 2). Lest you be thinking this is your big chance to remake Tree of Life by simply shooting home movies, inserting random edits, a dinosaur, and then putting Mozart under the whole thing, the submissions part is over.
There were four categories: Fiction, NonFiction, Brand Film and Music Video. Anyway, they’ve announced the category winners, and you can watch all of those here. But at Macworld (wait, is it Macworld or iWorld? I should probably know these things) they’re going to announce the grand prize winner, and you can vote to determine who that is. You do it by “liking” a film using your Facebook login, of course, and if you don’t have a Facebook account you better start running before Michael York turns you into a pile of ash. Renew, citizen!
Anyway, check out the films, and marvel that we live in an age when the capability to make a film with a device that fits in your pocket, and that some people are actually using this to tell stories, and not simply recording their neighbors getting into naked, hair-pulling fights at the local Arby’s.
