When GTA V arrives for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this fall, it’ll take “full advantage” of each respective hardware, ensuring the best possible Grand Theft Auto experience ever. Following the full unveil during Sony’s E3 press conference on Monday, Rockstar revealed more details about the upcoming remastered version, which will introduce across-the-board graphical and technical improvements, the developer said. I played the game on last generation consoles, but already I’m sold.
It makes sense for companies to re-release some of the bigger games on next generation consoles. You can bet people will scoop The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4 right up, and considering GTA V is the hottest selling media ever, it’s no surprise to see this one coming out later this year.
In addition to graphical and technical improvements, Rockstar said the upcoming version will also include new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage, and new stuff to find throughout the vast open world. All the upgrades hitting the main game will also be present in GTA Online, too, Rockstar confirmed. Sony on Monday said players will be able to port their current online data from existing consoles over to next generation consoles.
Rockstar also confirmed the PC version will get an “advanced movie-making” mode, giving users tools to easily create content for YouTube; it’s unclear if a similar mode will later be made for consoles versions. GTA V will be available later this fall, with pre-orders available today.
