On to the apps...
We've never really been fans of the Gmail app, but Google made it slightly better with an update this week. Now it works with Notification Center, so you can get banners and see emails on your lock screen.
Less importantly, you can now permanently log in; you won't have to enter your password whenever you want to read your mail.
