The definition of a Hostel according to Google is: An establishment that provides inexpensive food and lodging for a specific group of people, such as students, workers, or travelers. To be honest I sort of new what it was but I had to look it up to make sure. Sadly I have never stayed at a hostel. It's not that I wouldn't, it's just that I never have had the chance. But for those of you out there that frequent hostels when you travel or want to check out a hostel for the first time, you really should download the app Hostelworld.
The apps interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to understand. When the app loads you are greeted by several really amazing screen shots from places like Thailand, Australia, London, and others. At the bottom of the screen is a search button that will take you into the search screen for the app. Each hostels information screen shows property information, reviews, and rooms available. It also shows photos and icons representing several amenities found at the hostel. This is really nice when you are looking for something specific.
From the search screen users can search through all the options available for a specific place, search a different location, and filter search results based on different criteria. It's fantastically simple and easy to use. The screen for a specific hostel is great too. First off is shows a very nice marquee of photos for the hostel you choose. It also shows reviews for that hostel, rooms available, and information for the place you are thinking of going. Users can search by price, reviews, and location. Another nice feature is the search bar at the top of the screen. The search lets you search for hostels in other places than the places that are found most of the time when you run the app. I searched for hostels Hawaii and sure enough I found some. Some really nice ones too!
So overall I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to stay in hostel or anyone thinking about traveling the world one hostel at a time! It's very useful and very easy to use.
