How to Add Voice Recordings & Photos to Your Digital Diary Notes and Password Protect Them in iPhone
In life, there are certain things that are best kept to oneself. This includes certain stuff on your shopping list that you wouldn't want others to read on your iPhone– for whatever reason, be it that you generally like to keep things to yourself, or perhaps you may feel embarrassed of what others might think after reading your list of things to do. Additionally, some people like to keep logs of their personal thoughts and ideas that are not appropriate to share with others. Consequently, there are plenty of apps for the iPhone which can help keep your secret thoughts to yourself. However, one such app that hits all the marks in terms of security and features is Notes Lock.
Notes lock is a feature packed notes encrypting application for your iPhone.
Once you've downloaded and installed the application, you can start creating secure notes right away. To get started, access the application on your iPhone by entering your password, pin or pattern. Once you're in, you can either create a new note by tapping on ‘My Notes' button or if you like, create a new Folder by tapping on the ‘+' button. Once you are in the new note menu option, you can add audible reminders, voice memos and images along with your text notes. Additionally, you can also take images directly from the menu interface, download from the web, import from camera roll and conveniently attach them to your notes.
To view your notes by date, all you have to do is access the side menu option and tap on the calendar button. From here you'll be able to pinpoint all your important notes corresponding with dates that have a red dot on top of them.
VIEW ALL Secure Notes:
If you are not able to find a specific note from the calendar view, you also have to option to view all your notes under the ‘All' menu option. Accordingly, to view all notes, access the side menu and tap the ‘All' button. Once you are inside the menu option, you'll be able to look at all saved notes in the application.
Sometimes, you may end up deleting an important note, and that's ok because we all make mistakes. Luckily, you can retrieve your note by accessing the recycle bin menu option by tapping on the Garbage bin button. From here, you should be able to view all notes that you may have deleted.
SETTINGS MENU OPTIONS:
Notes lockers has a host of secondary security options and other features that make the application secure and convenient to use. Consequently, you will find the following list of submenus in the settings options.
From the security credential menu option you are able to setup your application's main access control. You can choose to setup a pin, pattern or password for your primary access to the application.
RECOVERY of CREDENTIALS:
From this submenu, you should be able to access your forgotten username/password given that you have registered your email address.
The decoy mode lets you setup a fake username and password, so if there someone who you can't avoid giving out your password and username, you can do so securely by giving them the access to your decoy account.
Panic switch mode lets you quickly switch to another application in case you have shoulders surfers hovering behind your back. You can activate this feature using many different triggers such as flicking your iPhone, shaking it, placing it face down or simply placing your palm on the screen.
Backing up your secure notes is an absolute must these days. Luckily Pro user can upload all their secure notes to their Dropbox account.
HACK Attempt Monitoring:
Hack attempt monitoring option can be accessed from the settings submenu. From this menu, you can check who attempted to access your account. The hack monitor automatically takes images of people who've entered the wrong access code, pattern or pin.
Difference Between Free and Pro Versions:
With the pro version, you certainly get your money's worth. Options such as decoy mode (fake login), cloud backup, panic switch and ADs free use are not available in the free version.
There are several other similar apps that you can try. However, I found Notes Lock to contain more security options than its competitors. In addition, I found fewer if any bugs in this app, meaning the developers have put-in the effort to polish this application.
