Gotta finish that project for work but keep getting distracted by Clash of Clans notifications? Need to study for your upcoming exams but can’t stop your instant gratification monkey from tapping on the Candy Crush icon? Kids won't stop playing Angry Birds 2 long enough to practice their times tables?
If your Android smartphone is causing you to procrastinate, you’re not alone. Even if you never play games on your device, just the never-ending stream of Whatsapp messages from friends (not to mention the pure evil of the infinitely scrollable Facebook feed) can cause you to never ever get anything worthwhile accomplished.
Yes: of course there’s an app to prevent you from using apps. Quit getting distracted and stop procrastinating with ClearLock: block distractions!, a new free app for Android.
2. Give the app usage access permission so that it can properly block distracting apps. Tap "Give Permission," then scroll down to find and tap "Apps with usage access". Select CleanLock and turn the switch on to allow access.
3. Now, go back to the CleanLock app and scroll through the list of all the apps you have installed on your device, and select every single one that usually distracts you when you’re trying to focus.
4. Select the quantity of time that you’d like to be blocked from using distracting apps, from 10 minutes up to 3 hours.
5. Hit "Block Apps," then "I'm Sure," and get focused - there’s no way around ClearLock before the timer runs out unless you reboot your device (you won’t even be able to modify the settings just to sneak in a quick round of Temple Run).
