You may wonder what Carrier IQ actually once you came to know that it has been disabled by iOS. Well, it is network diagnostic software installed on smartphones and tablets. It gathers network diagnostics and personal and private information like phone call logs, text messages, and few encrypted web searches too which means a kind of tresspassing on the privacy of the users. But, it’s found to be easier to disable and Apple was also reported saying that they don’t support this feature in iOS 5 anymore.The Carrier IQ-style diagnostic information sharing on the iPhone has been disabled by the iOS 5. However, there’s no need to worry as you could share the data with Apple. Through the on-device setup process, you are given an option to do so. So if you’ve opted-Out of Carrier IQ-Style Diagnostics on iOS 5 or if you plan to opt out of the Carrier IQ service, follow these iOS 5 tips:
Tap on “Settings”
Go to “General” and tap on “About”
Tap on “Diagnostics and Usage”
Tap on “Don’t Send”
