Text-to-Speech is a great function on iPhones and iPads which let you hear any selected piece of text. It’s a neat little accessibility feature but most of do not know it because it is switched off by default. Here’s how to enable and use text-speech on iPhone (& iPad).
To begin with this, head over to Settings.
Now, choose General.
Tap on Accessibility.
Down below, you’ll have the Speak Selection option (which will be turned off by default)
Tap on that, and switch it on.
Adjust the slider to a reasonable speed. You can change it later based on how fast / slow you want the text to be read out.
Using the Text-Speech function.
This is pretty simple. Whichever text you want the iPhone / iPad to read out, just select it. Besides the usual options of Copy, Cut and Paste, you will see a Speak option too.
