We show you how to safely reset and restore your iPad Mini
There are a variety of reasons why you might want to factory reset your Apple iPad Mini, ranging from security issues to bugs to fresh starts. Whatever the reason for the device-wipe, the process itself is very straightforward.
To be clear: what we’re doing here is a hard reset, so be sure to back up all your content and data. Once the reset is done the iPad Mini will be a blank slate with nothing on it.
If you have photos, music or information you’ll need in the future – back them up now!
Now that’s out of the way, here’s how you perform a hard reset on the iPad Mini.
Head To Settings
Inside your home screen you’ll find a Settings app which you need to tap on. It’s grey and has a cog symbol. Inside there you want you press on General.
Reset Your iPad Mini
Once in General you need to tap on Reset which will then give you the two options. Your choices are “Reset All Settings” which will restore all your app settings to the original status.
The second choice is “Erase All Content and Settings” which will do exactly what it says on the tin, it will delete all of your information. Which option do you want to choose?
Reboot Your iPad Mini
Once you’ve selected your choice it will go into the reboot stage which will then take a couple of minutes. If you selected "Erase All Content and Settings", you will need to reconnect your iPad Mini to iTunes in order to reactivate it
