Well, this single tip could save you a lot of thinking and confusion over what to gift someone (preferably with an iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch.)
Okay, first off, in order to gift someone an app, you should make sure they have a compatible iPhone / iDevice. Check out if the app you want to gift is supported on the iPhone or iPad they have.Let’s get started:How to Gift iPhone App / iPad App / iPod Touch App to Someone:
Launch the App Store (on your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch)
Find the app you want to gift somone.
Once you are on the App’s page, scroll way down.
Right at the bottom, you’ll see an option – “Gift This App”
Tap it – you will be asked to sign into iTunes Store (if you aren’t already).
Hit “Next” on the page where it shows the app summary.
Now, you will have to fill up your name, recipient’s name and email address and a note to be attached with the app.
On the final purchase summary screen, tap on “Buy Gift” in the lower-right corner of the page.
The direct download link for the app would reach your recipient’s email address – so be extra careful about the address. Also, if you attach more recipient’s, the app would be bought for each and your account will be debited with the appropriate account. The credit-card attached to your account is used up in this process – and it looks like your iTunes credit does not matter.
And because you will have a purchase summary with you, it’s okay if the recipient loses the email. You can get the download again from the purchase history even if you lose the redemption email.
This season, you can save yourself from a lot of confusion about what to buy for your loved ones – if they have got an iDevice with them. Buying a cool app as a gift could, well, be something cool!
