Sure, being able to take a quick glance at incoming text messages without unlocking your iPhone is handy, but that also means that anyone around when your iPhone buzzes can simply pick it up and see what might be a personal message. Here’s how to prevent your messages from showing up on the iPhone’s lock screen.
Open the Settings app and tap on “Notifications.” Now, scroll down a bit and tap on “Messages.”
In the Messages menu, simply toggle the “Show Previews,” switch to “OFF.” (The switch green when its turned on.) Now, you’ll still a notification of the message, but a preview of the message won’t show on your lock screen, keeping it private.
