Launch Maps and get directions to a destination as usual.
Tap the curled page button at the bottom right corner of the Maps app.
At the next screen, tap “Print” and then select the AirPrint printer to print to.
This way you can print maps from iPad or iPhone in the form of a step by step visual guide.
Please note that you need to have an AirPrint compatible printer to print maps from iPhone or ipad. And in case your printer isn’t officially AirPrint compatible, you can use the free and easy to use third party tool AirPrint Activator and enable support. It works well in OS X Lion.
