Apple’s iPhone doesn’t come with a pre-installed camera timer, here’s the way to get one installed
Selfies sure are popular but it’s not the end of traditional photos as we know them. Cameras are still doing really well and the rear camera on your iPhone is still stronger than the one on the front.
Apple doesn’t have a timer feature built in to the iPhone camera. It’s a feature that can really come in useful when trying to produce group shots when you want to be in the image as well as being the photographer.
Even though Apple hasn’t adapted the feature there is a great app that offers the ability to time the image. Follow this guide below and then be prepared to press the button and jump into the image as soon as possible.
Luckily a Japanese developer is here to make the process of self-timing in the iPhone camera possible. If you head into the Apple App Store and download the TimerCam app you’ll be set up to shoot on a timer in no time.
The app is free and shouldn’t take too long to download as it’s only 1.3MB.
Delay Your Camera
Open up the app once it has installed and you’ll be able to take images directly inside it. You can set up the timer on a delay of 5, 10, 15 or even 30 seconds if you need quite a while to get in the picture.
Experiment With Timing Your Camera
There’s a bunch of other features such as a 3 second countdown sound effect plus you can also toggle the flash mode to either auto, on or off.
If you need it to work with your front camera you can also switch it round to the selfie taker as well.
Find Your Photos
Once you’ve taken all the images you need you’ll be able to find them within the camera roll, similar to when you take images inside the normal iPhone camera app.
