Are you scared that your iMessage won’t be deactivated if you lose your iPhone or if it is stolen? Well, there is a way to avoid this. You can set up a PIN code on your iPhone’s SIM card. Now you will be curious as to how you do that. Well, it’s an easy procedure.
Following are instructions on how to setup pin code in iPhone sim.
Launch the Settings app
Scroll down and tap on Phone settings
Scroll down to the very bottom and tap SIM PIN
Switch the SIM PIN option to ‘ON’
Enter the default PIN set by your carrier (AT&T is 1111, if you’re on a different carrier check with them, or Google it.)
Now, tap Change PIN.
Enter the current (default) SIM PIN again
Enter your own unique 4-digit PIN code
So now even if your iPhone is stolen, you can be sure of your SIM card’s safety. The person who gets it won’t be able to either send or receive any iMessages or misuse your number.
An important thing to remember is that the PIN code is only a temporary solution. The carrier bringing about deactivation on the thieves is the permanent one.
