Who’s excited about the iPhone 4S, where are they located, and what new features are they talking about? These are all questions well suited for Twitter data to answer.
The interactive chart below breaks down the buzz leading up to and through Apple’s big event on Oct. 4. As you can see, the chatter was focused primarily in the U.S. and Europe (little surprise), and the hashtags for #iPhone5 and #iPhone4S swapped dominant positions dramatically when Apple finally confirmed the name of the new phone.
Siri, the new “voice assistant” feature baked into the iPhone 4S, was the most-tweeted new feature. It even inspired a healthy crop of witty jabs from the Twitter humorists among you.
Thanks to Ross Perez and the team at Tableau Software for putting this data visualization together for us.
Editor’s Note: While there were likely #iPhone4S tweets appearing before Oct. 4, Tableau only began measuring them once the name was confirmed by Apple.
