As beautiful as the HTC One M9 is it's a bit of a let-down in several ways, so much so that apparently HTC has felt compelled to create a new flagship as a stopgap before the HTC One M10.
The phone is currently known as the HTC Aero and if rumours are accurate it's shaping up to be very impressive indeed.
HTCViet, quoting a 'source', claims that it will have a 1440 x 2560 QHD screen, Gorilla Glass 4 and 2.5D glass (which typically means ever so slightly curved edges, as seen on the iPhone 6 for example).
That would make for a massive upgrade over the 1080p screen found on the HTC One M9, though not an unprecedented one, as the HTC One M9+ released in China already has such a screen.
The screen is just one piece of the puzzle of course, but the same site recently claimed that it would have a "ground-breaking" camera with an f/1.9 aperture, allowing for improved low-light photography, as well as sporting the ability to store photos as RAW files.
If both of those things pan out then we could be in for significant screen and camera improvements at the very least, we just hope the rest of the specs deliver and that it's as gorgeous as the M9. With a launch expected in October we should know a lot more about the HTC Aero soon.
