The HTC Aero, a rumored upcoming smartphone, is already expected to feature some pretty sweet hardware. Now a new report claims the device could come through in one key area where the flagship One M9 was a disappointment: its display.
According to HTC Vietnam, the upcoming Aero will get a Quad HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4. That’s a nice step up from the 1080p screen on the M9, which looked fine but couldn’t really compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S6 or the LG G4. As for the 2.5D screen, that means the glass around the edges will curve down slightly, giving the device a similar design to the iPhone 6 or the Galaxy S6.
Last week the same site also revealed that HTC would introduce a “groundbreaking” camera for the Aero. The new phone will allegedly offer an aperture of f/1.9 for better low light shots. You may also be able to store RAW images on the device.
Despite all these high-end features, the HTC Aero is still rumored to be an “intermediate device,” suggesting this isn’t the flagship we’re hoping for. Still, at this point it looks like HTC isn’t holding back. We just hope the Aero can live up to all this hype when it finally launches later this year.
