HTC held an event in India today and the Desire 820 was the expected attraction. However, HTC not only showed off the Desire 820, they also included the Desire 820q and the Desire 816G.
The Desire 820 features a 5.5-inch 720p Super LCD 3 display, an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for up to an additional 128 GB of extra storage, 13 MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens, 8 MP front-facing camera with wide-angle, front-facing BoomSound speakers, dual-SIM support, and a 2,600 mAh battery.
The Desire 820q is essentially the same phone, but it gets a slower unnamed quad-core processor, presumably a MediaTek. The RAM also gets downgraded to 1 GB.
Lastly, the Desire 816G is much like the Desire 816, but it gets a MediaTec SoC rather than a Snapdragon 400. It also loses LTE, and gets a teeny weeny bit less RAM, 1 GB vs 1.5 GB.
The Desire 820 and the Desire 820q should be available in November. The Desire 816G will be available in early October for Rs. 18,990 ($312).
