If you were awaiting the arrival of the HTC One M9, prior to the official unveiling at MWC this year, then you may have been disappointing with the level of obvious differences between the latest flagship device and its predecessor, the HTC One M8. At least, that does seem to be the common consensus emerging from those who were waiting. That said, you cannot be that disappointed with the approach that HTC have taken to advertising and promoting the device. In particular, in terms of promotional videos.
Since the HTC One M9 was unveiled, HTC have very much taken a leaf out of Samsung’s ‘make lots of videos’ handbook and have been outputting a whole host of videos to promote the One M9. It all began when HTC released a couple of videos which had been used to showcase the device at the launch event. These were quickly followed by a few more, promoting the various features of the device. Then to top it all off, HTC released a whopping ten videos promoting the One M9 with Robert Downey Jr at their center.
Well, it now seems that HTC have taken to the TV directly in the UK, with the unveiling of their first UK TV spot for their flagship offering. The video is only thirty seconds long (which is pretty short by UK advert standards) but does give an indication of to the approach HTC will be taking in the UK, in terms of promoting the One M9. The video highly focuses on the M9’s camera and music abilities. While also promotes what seems to be a youthful nature to the One M9 and its target audience, with the various actors skating, partying and using the camera to snap their more adventurous moments. Not to mention, there is also a party scene which seems to be saved by the One M9. In short, a fast-paced advert for a thirty-second spot. There is also a clear play on the “One Life” ethos with the likes of “Epic everything”, “Let them Stare” and “Make Some Noise” slogans all being touted throughout the video.
