Just the other day we heard about the rumoured HTC device called the HTC One A9 – the “A” stands for “Aero”. As if right on cue, HTC has booked an event for September 6th to announce a new device – its invite shows a smartphone’s silhouette amongst nebula-like (galaxy?) clouds accompanied by the Chinese words “Meng Yao”. A literal translation of this comes up with “superior handsomeness” which is a big call, but give HTC’s recent financial problems, going big is something that they are going to have to do.
Whether or not the One A9, or whatever the device is called, lives up to its tagline, it must tick all the boxes if it has any hopes of going up against Samsung and even Apple who will announce its new iPhones just a few days after HTC’s event. Rumours say that the One A9 will have a Quad HD display, a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, 4GB RAM and an all-metal body – that all sounding good so far, but we all know hardware is just half the battle. Let’s see what HTC shows up with on the 6th.
