HTC is expected to launch a successor to the Butterfly series sometime soon. And a new revelation made on Twitter now suggests that this smartphone will feature a very identical specs sheet compared to the HTC One M8. However, it is said that the Butterfly 2 will feature a plastic/polycarbonate body and not aluminum or metal like the One M8, which indicates that this could be slightly cheaper as well.
The smartphone is expected to be initially launched in Hong Kong, Japan as well as Taiwan with other Asian countries expected to join the list. It will be interesting to see if this smartphone will feature the Ultrapixel camera from the HTC One M8, which has been one of the highlights of the device, although not very well received by the public.
Later this year, the manufacturer is also expected to launch the HTC One M8 Prime sporting a 2K resolution display and a Snapdragon 805 SoC, so it’s certainly going to be an eventful year for HTC. The company has seen quite a decent response for the One M8 and will hope to continue the success going forward with the launch of the Butterfly 2 on the horizon.
