After making its way through most of the HTC’s One lineup, Android 4.4.2 is now starting to pop up on other recent devices from the Taiwanese OEM. The latest HTC device to receive an official udpate to 4.4.2 is the Butterfly S.
The 737 MB update, which has begun rolling out to many end user devices, comes in at software version 3.06.708.3. Aside from bumping up the Android version to 4.4.2, this update also brings cloud printing support, security enhancements, and new Bluetooth profiles. It also unfortunately removes Flash Player support from the default web browser, just like we’ve seen in other HTC KitKat updates.
The 4.4.2 update for the Butterfly S was first noticed by XDA Forum Member An69, who was also kind enough to mirror the OTA for all to enjoy. XDA Recognized Contributor LlabTooFeR then posted a picture of the OTA on his Twitter account showing the main changes of this OTA.
If you’re a Butterfly S owner looking for some official KitKat love, head over to the firmware thread and download the OTA.
