TAOYUAN, Taiwan – HTC has announced a mid-range smartphone, Desire 500, and the rumored HTC One Max has leaked in the form of images.
The latest addition to Desire family looks a lot like its predecessors in shape. The phone will come in two colors, Lacquer Black and Glacier Blue. The company also revealed that a version Dual-SIM capability and NFC support will be released later.
The phone runs on the latest HTC Sense 5 software, and has a 4.3-inch WVGA display. Inside, it packs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. The HTC Desire 500 features an 8MP camera, 4GB of storage space, microSD slot for memory expansion and 1800mAh battery. The device will be rolled out to select markets later this month.
In related news, leaked photos show the HTC One Max being compared to Motorola XT882. The phablet is understood to sport a very large 5.9-inch display. The phone will retain certain characteristics from the other sibling, HTC One. However, the CPU will be upgraded to a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset.
The HTC One Max is supposed to be unveiled at IFA in September.
