TAOYUAN, Taiwan - HTC has introduced the HTC Desire 610 at AT&T last month, while the HTC Desire 816 makes it to Virgin Mobile this month.
The phablet is offered through an online store of HTC Corporation. It is priced at $299.99 with no-contract plan from carrier.
The device supports 3G/4G LTE network and mobile hotspot. Main specs of Desire 816 comprise of a 5.5inch 720p HD screen, a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0.
The RAM is a 1.5GB whereas the 8GB of storage capacity is available aboard, though memory can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. The Desire 816 is loaded with a 13MP BSI camera with flash at the back and a 5MP BSI camera on the front both of which are capable of recording videos on 1080p.
Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, Wi-Fi, DLNA, HTC Connect and micro-USB 2.0. It runs on 2,600 mAh battery that serves up to 21 hours of usage for talktime on 3G and up to 737 hours of standby on 3G.
Other features include HTC BlinkFeed which lets a user design their home screen with favorite contents, HTC Zoe that helps a user create a mini-movie using pictures and videos and HTC BoomSound to amplify and enhance the quality of sound from music, games and videos.
