Last year HTC raised some eyebrows when it unveiled the One A9, a sleek Android phone with more than a passing resemblance to Apple’s iPhone design. Now it looks like the company is at it again with an upcoming HTC One A9s.
VentureBeat obtained an image of the device in four different colors (white, silver, gold and black color). Overall, it’s pretty similar to the OneA9, but HTC pushed the rear camera top the top left corner so it looks even more like an iPhone. That annoying HTC logo previously positioned just below the display is also gone, leaving a bit of extra bezel in its place.
We don’t know much else about the device. It apparently sports the same 13-megapixel rear camera but features a 5-megapixel shooter in front instead of the old 4-UltraPixel lens. It’s unclear what other improvements the phone might offer, or how much HTC plans to charge for the A9s.
VentureBeats reports that the HTC One A9s could debut this week on September 1, right before IFA 2016 kicks off in Berlin. The company hasn’t sent out invitations for an official event at the annual tech show, but it could be planning to surprise us with the new smartphone.
When reached for comment, HTC said it doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.
