The President of HTC America has reaffirmed that the HTC One smartphone will receive an update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean beginning from this month. HTC came out with a word last month about an update for the One and the Droid DNA. And this batch of update rollout will include both American and European variants of the smartphone. We’re hoping carriers will roll out the update at about the same time. This formally makes HTC the first manufacturer to start the Android 4.3 update rollout among top companies, leaving behind Samsung, LG and Sony. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is slated to get the update in October while LG and Sony haven’t made anything public yet.
Since Android 4.3 isn’t a major upgrade over Android 4.2.2, we can expect manufacturers to roll it out relatively quicker. It’s commendable to see HTC being the first to come out with an update as the company has been very slow with updates in the past. The company finished its Android 4.2.2 rollout in the U.S. very recently, so American users have every reason to rejoice.
