TAOYUAN, Taiwan – An HTC One unit was driven over by a 7-tonne forklift, cracking the display but keeping the rest intact.
The smartphone fought back and managed to still stand successfully, albeit with sharp dents and impressions to its body and a display that got shattered. The single piece aluminum body that the HTC One comes with makes it solid and sturdy, and protected the device from any major damages.
The user is eligible, according to HTC’s Advance Program, for a one time screen replacement, as the device has not even passed six months’ time.
The user might keep the fork impressions on the back, flaunting the strength of HTC One stylishly. Moreover, the HTC has an anodized aluminum back, making it scratch- and finger-resistant and therefore the device still keeps shining.
Besides HTC, Samsung Mobile Africa also provides screen replacements for free for a limited period of time, in case such a problem occurs with devices.
