HTC is well known for its best-in-class smartphones, and it was never out of competition. It is valued for its well-packed specifications and features at an affordable price. HTC One E9 is one of such smartphones which has been embedded with high specifications and well-functioned features. This 5.5-inch phone comes with Mediatek Helio X10 processor and Android Lollipop version.
Previously, we have seen that HTC One E8 has got a good applause from all the gadget freaks and also HTC One E9s, which was released after E9 was also a success. However, after few months of usage, some of its users reported about the performance issues in HTC One E9 phone and so we are in here to share few tips using which you can easily gear up the performance of the phone with in 5 minutes. So, just lean back and read the simple techniques below to speed up your mobile for better performance.
Like all the other manufacturers, HTC also releases OTA’s at regular intervals for its devices. So, first and foremost thing to do by the users is to check for any latest software update. The users get a notification about the OTA’s and if not you can check the same using manual method. Open, ‘Settings>About’ and check for any software update in here.
If you can see any update, then all you need to do is to download and install it on your mobile and get upgraded. It is recommended to use WiFi connection while downloading as the file is large. Once done, then you will be having a better performance on the phone as the update contains fixes for the minor bugs and also enhancements for the better functionality of the phone.
Use Developer Options
One of the nice features which provide user to perform few extra tasks on the Android device is ‘Developer Options’. On the first hand, users cannot find these options as one need to enable them to get access. So, first of all, open ‘Settings>About>Software Information>More’ and now tap on the ‘Build Number’, about 6 to 7 times until you can enable the developer options. Once done, you can able to see these options under ‘Settings’.
Now, scroll down these options and find the animation settings. By default, all the settings will be pointed to 1x, and so you need to disable those by tapping on ‘No animations’. Or, you can also reduce them to 0.5X for better performance. Once the changes are done, you can feel the change in performance instantly by yourself.
Disable Live Wallpapers and Widgets
It is a known fact that every smartphone user wants to enhance the look of their display, and so most of them use Live Wallpapers and Widgets. But in Android, as you those, it will eat away most of the processor and slows down the performance of the phone. So, we advise you to use normal screensavers and wallpapers for the background which doesn’t have much effect on the processor.
Also, try not to use the widgets and if at all you need them, limit the number of widgets to just one or two. By doing this, you can help increasing the level of performance on the phone, and it also decreases the lagging issues in the device.
Uninstall Pre-installed Apps and Remove App Cache
Every Android device comes with few pre-installed apps and some apps among them can be bloatware which can cause the battery-draining and over-heating problems on the phone. So, we recommend you to uninstall all such apps from your device so as to gear up the functionality of the phone. Also, Android users always try to download and try various apps from the play store and few among them will be unnecessary. So, get rid of all such useless apps from the device and always keep the phone safe.
Whenever you open or use a specific app, the cache gets stored in the background and as the time passes it causes performance issue. So, the next thing you need to do is to clear the app cache which can be done easily by opening each app from the app manager and by tapping, ‘Clear Cache’.
Wipe Cache Partition and Factory Reset
If your phone is extremely slow and the lagging issue is on high, then you can implement this method so as to boost up the functionality of the device. For Wipe cache partition, all you need to do is to get your phone into the recovery mode. For that, you need to turn off your phone and hold the Volume down and power button at the same time. In the recovery mode, you have to use volume buttons for navigation and power button for confirming the selection. So, select and confirm, ‘Wipe Cache Partition’ and wait for some time until the process is done. Now, go for ‘Reboot system Now’ and that’s all; the phone gets restarted, and you will be having the better performance of
If you are not satisfied with the performance of the phone even after implementing the above method, then you can try the factory reset. But, remember that, by performing this task, entire data on the device get erased and so you have to take a back up of the data before proceeding further. You can perform the factory reset by getting your phone into the recovery mode as explained above. In here you need to select and confirm, ‘Wipe data/Factory reset’ and then confirm ‘Yes – delete all user data’. Once the process is done go for ‘Reboot System Now’ and you will have a brand new device.
You can also do the factory reset by tapping on, ‘Settings>Backup & reset>Factory data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase everything’.
Few Other Tips
In addition to the above steps, we would like to share few other tips with you using which you can increase the performance of the phone. Whenever you have no use with WiFi and Bluetooth, then turn them OFF. Do not try to use data network in the low-coverage areas as it will drain the battery faster. Get used to adjust the brightness of the screen manually instead of auto-setting and also use auto-rotation whenever necessary. Do not over load the phone with excess apps and never perform multi-tasking (using several apps at a time) as it may hang the phone.
