You know what they say – a rose, by any other name, would smell just as sweet. Hence, it is no surprise that the “fragrance” which surrounds the upcoming HTC One M10 has started to gather strength in terms of numbers, where the most recent rumors point to the possibility of a couple of variants, with one of them running on the Snapdragon 820 SoC, while the other would be chugging along to the orchestrations of a MediaTek chipset. The latter remains to be confirmed, although the Snapdragon 820 should more or less be a given. Ah well, it looks like the handset will carry the codename “Perfume”, and its “scent” is certainly getting stronger and stronger by the day, although it will not be shown off at Mobile World Congress that is happening next month.
Just to recap, there does not look as though BoomSound speakers will make their presence felt in the HTC Perfurme, which would certainly be a let-down since BoomSound speakers happen to be a known “signature” of HTC’s high end models until now. I suppose it would be somewhat akin to removing the Retina Display identity in Apple’s newer iPhone and iPad models, or perhaps LG’s volume buttons that are located behind on their flagship smartphones.
