The HTC One Max has been available in the UK for around a couple of weeks now, but so far only on Vodafone. That’s because the operator had an exclusivity window agreed with HTC. Now though, that seems to be over.
So if you’re not keen on signing long-term contracts with operators, or simply don’t like Vodafone, you now have another option: purchasing the One Max SIM-free and unlocked from a third-party retailer.
One such company, Unlocked Mobiles, already has the phablet in stock and ready for delivery. The price you’ll need to pay is £584.98, VAT included.
If you’d rather buy from Clove or MobileFun, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow, which is when these two retailers will get their first batches of One Max units. At Clove, the price is set at £589.99, whereas MobileFun is asking for £599.99.
The One Max is HTC’s first phablet. It comes with the signature design first employed by the ‘vanilla’ One. It has a 5.9-inch 1080p Full HD Super LCD 3 touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3, a 4 MP UltraPixel rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a non-removable 3,300 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
