HTC’s first phablet – the T6, which could be officially called One Max – is expected to be unveiled in September.
This report from China Times seemingly confirms the arrival of the T6 before the end of the third quarter, also mentioning that the HTC Zara (a previously unheard of device) will be another new product expected to be introduced later this year.
While the One Max T6 will have a metal body – like the HTC One and the just-announced One Mini – it’s said that HTC has opted for a plastic design in Zara’s case. Unfortunately, there are absolutely no details on what kind of device the Zara is. Nevertheless, the plastic construction should allow HTC to sell it for an attractive price.
Back to the One Max, rumors have it that this will feature a 5.9 inch Full HD display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 2GB of RAM, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and a 3,200 mAh battery. It should come in two storage options: 32GB and 64GB.
Meanwhile, HTC has established a new business unit, called Emerging Devices. This will “focus on innovative new HTC products and global distribution strategies” – so it will likely be in charge of both the One Max T6 and Zara.
