The HTC One X+ is finally about to receive its update to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5. This comes around one month after the HTC One started getting its underlying software version up to 4.2.
Since it was HTC’s last flagship device before the One, it makes sense that the One X+ would be on the receiving end of this update right now. We’re hoping that the One X is going to be next in line. The One V will clearly not see Android 4.2 at all, while the situation with the One S is still unknown – but don’t get your hopes up.
The update brings with it the enhanced Sense 5 UI first introduced when the One launched. It comes with the BlinkFeed homescreen, a new lockscreen, battery percentage support in the status bar, and the Quick Settings panel. Battery life is said to have been improved, and the camera app got some updates too.
The update is now rolling out over-the-air, so your phone should notify you when it’s ready for download. Of course, you can always manually check by going to Settings > About. Alternatively, you can even use HTC’s sync desktop software to make sure that the update is out in your particular region. As with all such rollouts, it may take a while before all One X+ units get the update, so if you don’t see it right away, be patient.
