Despite all its troubles with falling sales, poor financials and patent infringement lawsuits with Nokia; HTC has had the bravado to continue launching new devices. This time around HTC has launched a new mid-range device – the HTC Desire 400 Dual Sim – in Russia and Ukraine. However in both the regions the device seems to have been launched with different specifications.
In the Russian region, the HTC Desire 400 Dual Sim sports a 4.3 inch LCD display which offers a mediocre 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 1 GB of RAM. The device features an 8 mega pixels (MP) primary camera, with LED flash as well as a 1.6 MP secondary video call camera; the internal storage is maxed out at 4 GB which can be expanded up to 64 GB using the available MicroSD slot.
Whereas the Ukrainian version of the device is slated to sport a 5 MP rear primary camera, a VGA front camera and a dual-core CPU. However, both the sites agree that the usual set of connectivity – triband 2G and dual band 3G connectivity; 4G options – as expected – are unavailable. Bluetooth v 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and DLNA are also supported. An 1800 mAh user-removable battery powers the device, which provides up to 12.1 hours of talktime on 3G. The Android version which comes with the device is unstated, however HTC Sense with HTC BlinkFeed will be skinned over whatever Android version is loaded on the device.
The price for the HTC Desire 400 Dual Sim is not yet available; however we do know the device will be available in three color options – the standard black, white and a unique silver-grey version. The specifications and features definitely sound almost a year old. Once again it seems that HTC does not have a clear-cut strategy for its product-line and they seem to be manufacturing devices left, right and center.
Personally I have been a great fan of their devices, and let’s hope like Jack Frost, they manage to find their center soon enough. What’s your view on this announcement? Our comments section is waiting for you below.
