As those of us who follow cell phone news know, a few months ago HTC announced a partnership with Beats audio to create a few phones with a Beats branding. Well one of those music centric love children was announced today at an HTC event in the form of the Rezound. The phone isn’t a slouch by any means, but with other Verizon heavy hitters like the Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR and of course IPhone 4S does it have a real shot? Read on to find out:As mentioned above the Rezound is coming to Verizon this holiday season, a very crowded party. The phone features a 4.3-inch Super LCD display with a resolution of 720p. This makes the Rezound one of only two phones with a resolution that high (the first being the Galaxy Nexus, also launching on Verizon this year.) Under the hood is a very powerful 1.5Ghz dual core processor thats sure to chew through Android apps as if they were nothing. Where the phone really sets itself apart, however, is the design. Unlike most phones that focus solely on slimness the Rezound features an interesting shape that is very pleasing to the eye. Another cool accent is the addition of red navigation keys below the screen. The phone will ship running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a sense 3.5 overlay. HTC is still considering whether or not to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, leading some to speculate that it wont play as nicely with proprietary UI’s like Sense and Touchwiz. Did I mention the full LTE support? The phone will retail for $299 with an included pair of Beats ear buds on contract and will be available from Verizon on November 14th. It seems Verizon customers have a difficult decision to make before mailing off those letters to Santa.
