Last year HTC introduced an 18-carat gold HTC One, which we had a chance to check out in person in London. Additionally, other firms sold custom 24 carat gold HTC One (M7) units that were valued at about $3,000. Now, the company is doing the same thing again and, apparently, recently sent one to John Legere, T-Mobile’s CEO.
Was it for keeps? We don’t know, but we’re certainly jealous if that’s the case. Legere recently posted a photo of the device on Twitter, and it looks really similar to the gold model of the One M7, but with the distinguishing Duo Camera and dual LED flash in tow.
Want one for yourself? We already know that HTC is also going to sell a gold-colored version of the HTC One M8, apparently through Best Buy at some point, but that’s not exactly the same thing as owning a beautiful phone with a beautiful, solid gold coating. You’re going to have to search long and hard to find other 24-carat gold models, and you’ll need some deep pockets. We wonder, though: Did the CEOs of other wireless carriers get the same gift?
