This news may seem old to some, who have called the phablet HTC One device the HTC One Max for a while now, but notable leaker Evleaks has officially confirmed the retail name for the HTC T6.
The HTC T6 arrived months ago, back in early summer – sporting a 6-inch display and some high-end specs, it looked like HTC’s move into the phablet market to compete with Samsung, LG and Sony.
With the “one brand” approach HTC is currently using to market their high-end devices, we were not surprised to hear this would be called the HTC One Max, considering we also have the HTC One Mini.
The HTC One Max specs include quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU inside clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 3300mAh battery and 16/32/64GB of internal storage, alongside eight-band LTE, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac and NFC.
It is a beast of a device to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy Mega, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Huawei Ascend Mate. Even though this 6-inch market has not brought any huge yield, the Galaxy Note has gained significant traction and has lead manufacturers to make even bigger smartphones.
According to other leaks on the HTC One Max, it will apparently come out in Asia first sometime in 2013 and may be scheduled for a European launch, but there is no news on a US release date or any carrier preparing to support the device.
