HTC is said to be planning big updates for the U11 that will bring a number of exciting changes to greatly improve its display quality and video recording capabilities. The handset has been somewhat neglected since its release, but that’s going to change.
Many U11 owners are unhappy that the device is lagging behind on features and updates. For some, it’s been three months since they last received an Android security patch. But according to one trusted insider on the XDA Developers forum, U11 fans have some big things to look forward to in the coming months.
HTC is said to be planning updates that will add an sRGB display option to greatly improve color accuracy, and 1080p video recording at 60 frames-per-second. Many of the U11’s rivals already offer these things, so it’s important that HTC catches up. It has already released some fixes to improve lag, speed up the camera app, and more.
Insider Hamdir warns that the update(s) is still several weeks or even months away, but they’re sure it is in the pipeline. In the meantime, we’re hoping HTC can bring the U11 up to speed on security patches, which Google releases to manufacturers every month.
