Huawei’s brand new Ascend P6 smartphone is available now in the UK – and this isn’t a surprise at all, because we knew it was going to be released there in early July.
You can buy the handset for less than previously reported. That’s as long as you’re getting it from Talk Talk, which is offering it for free on plans starting at £20 per month. What’s more, for a limited time Talk Talk is also throwing in a free Huawei MediaPad Lite tablet with the Ascend P6.
Of course, you can also opt to buy the Ascend P6 on contracts from other networks. Carphone Warehouse has various offers, starting from free at £21 monthly.
SIM-free, the new Ascend can be bought for slightly over £300.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Huawei Ascend P6 is very thin (only 6.2mm), and features: a 4.7 inch HD display, Dolby Digital Plus sound, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, Huawei K3V2 quad-core processor (1.5GHz), 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
In (somehow) related news, if you want a smaller, way smaller Android device, Sony has recently introduced the SmartWatch 2. This could be available in the UK starting July 15. Retailer Clove is asking £120 for the wearable accessory, saying it should have it in stock that day.
