Just one week before its official unveiling (May 7), the press images of the upcoming Huawei Ascend P7 have been leaked on by @evleaks. Very few images of the device have circulated online ever since rumors of it started and most of the clear images started appearing only yesterday when leaked photos of the device appeared.
The press images looked similar to the leaked photos released yesterday. The Ascend P7 looks quite similar in design to the Ascend P6. Based on the images we could tell that it is made of alloy and glass giving it a sturdy and premium feel. There’s a rear speaker at the bottom left part of the device while what looks like a shutter button is situated between the power button and the SIM tray.
As far as specifications of this device are concerned we already know what it will be sporting for quite some time now.
The Ascend P7 is designed to be the successor to the Ascend P6 and is going to have a premium design with mid-range specs. It will have a 5–inch display that won’t have a 2K resolution but instead stick to an FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080. The display will also have narrow bezels to keep the size of the phone down.
Although this is a mid-range device the Ascend P7 will have better cameras compared to its competition. It will use an 8MP front camera that is sure to take good selfie shots while a 13MP rear camera with LED flash can be used to take HD videos. The device will be using Huawei’s new camera ui which allows for an improved scene selection as well as having a beauty and panorama mode.
This device is using the Hisilicon Kirin 910 quad-core processor built on a 28 nm architecture. This chip is made by Huawei and uses a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and Mali-T450 graphics. It’s not really a powerful chip however it does get the job done and should be able to efficiently handle any task. A recent benchmark test of this device shows an overall score of 24883. This is lower than the score of the LG Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, or the HTC One however it is higher than the LG Optimus G, Motorola Moto G, and the Huawei Ascend P6.
This device comes with 2GB of RAM and has a 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.
The Ascend P7 will run on Android 4.4.2 with Huawei’s own Emotion UI version 2.0 running on top.
