Huawei's flagship Ascend P7 smartphone might have skipped out MWC 2014 earlier this year but we're getting some fresh new looks of it.
The Ascend P7 has been spotted again in some newly leaked images spotted by Nowhereelse.fr. While the photos don't really show anything too new from the previously leaked renderings, we've finally know what the actual home screen will look like.
From the side shot seen below, the phone looks like it will be a preposterously thin slab of glass just like its predecessor, the Ascend P6.
The phone also strongly resembles the Sony Xperia Z2 down to the same side button layout. Towards the center both handsets feature a volume rocker plus a round button for the combination lock and camera trigger.
There's not much going on the backside of the phone other than a very glossy surface that clearly reflects the shooter taking a snap of the phone.
Another 2K phone falls to the wayside?
Earlier reports suggested the Ascend P7 would be a 5-inch quad HD display monster. To help drive the smartphone's massive 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display there would have been a 2GHz octa-core processor.
However the one seen in the picture actually has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution screen with a 13-megapixel camera, and a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. There was no note on whether the smartphone would still come sporting a higher-resolution 8MP front facing camera.
However the French technology site believes these are actually images of a lower spec prototype, which would explain the technical disparity.
We'll soon know what the official and final specs of the phone are soon as Huawei will hold a press event on May 7. Stay tuned for more as we're sure to get more details on the Chinese smartphone maker's flagship handset soon.
