Huawei has unveiled another low-end model for the emerging markets. Part of the Ascend Y-series, the Y600 is an everything but exceptional device. It packs a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) screen, MediaTek’s 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear and VGA front-facing cameras, HSPA+ connectivity, and a 2,100 mAh battery. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show with Huawei’s own Emotion UI singing on top.
Size wise, the Ascend Y600 measures 144.5 x 74.5 x 10.8 mm, and has a weight of 180 grams. It will be available in black and white colors, though we don’t know how much it will cost. Chances are its price will top at $100, and we may never see it launching in the West. Not that we’ll miss it, anyway.
