There are a lot of interesting smartphones that are about to be released in China in the coming days. One model that’s expected to hit the market is the Huawei Honor 3C. Despite the company recently announcing that it will exit the U.S. market soon due to spying allegations it believes that by coming out with excellent products it will even increase its market share.
Huawei has already set a launch date this coming December 16 for the unveiling of two new Honor models. One of this is the Huawei Honor 3C where only a few details have been gathered previously. Just lately official looking photos of the device have been spotted which changes what was previously known about it.
Here’s what was previously known about the device
Quad-core MT6588 processor
4.7-inch 720p display
8 mega-pixel camera
5 mega-pixel front
Price of 999 Yuan ($160)
Magnesium alloy chassis
The recently leaked new photo however points to a device with different specs. While previously the Honor 3C was believed to sport a 4.7 inch display the photo seems to show a 5 inch 720p device.
Another notable difference is that the processor to be used is going to be a 1.3 GHz quad-core MT6582 and not the more advanced quad-core MT6588 processor.
The other specs that have been shown are
8 mega-pixel rear camera with f2.0 aperture form Sony. This is the same camera module that is being used in the Meizu MX3.
Samsung 5 mega-pixel front camera with F2.4 aperture
AnTuTu benchmark score of around 17,000 points
These new specs may not have an impact on the performance of the device which the images even claim.
Expect this device to compete against the popular Xiaomi HongMi model as both devices have a similar price point (with the Xiaomi model priced lower).
Of course all of these are just speculations and rumors and we won’t really know what the Huawei Honor 3C offers unless an official announcement has been made. With December 16 fast approaching we will soon know more details surrounding this device. As of now it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt.
