Last week, Huawei’s Mate 9 leaked out, revealing a pair of rear cameras along with claims of an iris scanner in front. Now a new set of renders may have spilled even more information on the upcoming flagship phone.
The leaked images, which were spotted on Weibo by AndroidPure, show the Huawei Mate 9 in six different color configurations. That includes the same four options available for the Mate 8 (silver, gold, gray and brown), and adds new models in rose gold/pink and dark black. Those new options could help Huawei compete with Apple’s popular Jet Black iPhone 7 and the year-old Rose Gold design.
The leak also appears to confirm that Leica helped engineer the phone’s dual rear cameras. The German camera maker’s logo is just barely visible between the two lenses. Huawei has an ongoing partnership with Leica, but this is the first time we’re seeing concrete evidence that the Mate 9 will be included in that deal.
The Mate 9 is also expected to offer a 6-inch display, Huawei’s new Kirin 960 processor and to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It’s likely to debut in early November starting at 3199 yuan (roughly $479) and going all the way up to 4699 yuan ($700) for the best possible specs.
