Huawei is China’s largest smartphone manufacturer at the moment, and the company is looking for ways to further expand to other markets. Indian smartphone market is definitely appealing to Huawei, not only because it’s the second largest smartphone market in the world, but also because it’s one of the fastest growing such markets out there. Both Huawei and the company’s Honor sub-brand have already introduced a number of devices in India, and the company has just unveiled some additional hardware, read on.
Huawei has just announced the Huawei P9 and the stainless steel variant of the Huawei Watch for the Indian smartphone market. The Huawei Watch was originally released to the market last year, while the Huawei P9 was originally announced earlier this year. The Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch fullHD display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable native storage. The phone is fueled by the Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali T880 MP4 GPU, while a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it offers fast charging. There are two 12-megapixel shooters placed on the back of the Huawei P9, and Leica’s SUMMARIT lens is included as well. The 8-megapixel shooter is located on the front side of this handset, and the phone offers 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC, while a Type-C USB port is placed on the bottom fo the phone. The Huawei P9 also offers a fingerprint scanner which can be found on its back, as you can see in the images provided down below. The Huawei Watch, on the other hand, is a metal-clad Android Wear-powered smartwatch, which comes with a 1.4-inch 400 x 400 AMOLED display. This watch also packs in 512MB of RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC running at 1.2GHz. The watch is compatible with both Android (4.3+) and iOS, while a 300mAh battery is here to power it. The Huawei Watch is also water resistant, and packs in a heart rate sensor.
The Huawei P9 comes in Mystic Silver, Prestige Gold and Titanium Gray color variants to India, and is priced at Rs. 39,999 ($597) in the country. The phone will be available exclusively from Flipkart, you’ll be able to get one starting from 3PM today (local time). The phone will also going to be available from Croma and Poorvika stores later on. The stainless steel Huawei Watch comes in Silver color only, and it costs Rs. 22,999 ($344) in the country, while it will also going to be available exclusively from Flipkart.
