So today I am reviewing the iPhone app iJoke Daily by William Lake. This is a fun entertaining app that tells users jokes on a daily basis. It has a slick interface and a professional joke writer coming up with the funny stuff.
iJoke looks pretty slick when you first load it. The main screen shows a list of jokes with different titles that users can click on to read or click on to listen to the audio of them. Each joke is accompanied with a photo and that has relevance with the topic of the joke. At the bottom of the screen is a toolbar that users can choose from. There is the Jokes page, the categories page, the favorites page, search, and more. The categories shows a list of categories that the jokes have been organized into. Next to each category title is the number of jokes that have been added to that category. The favorites page is a list of all the jokes you have marked as favorite while you used the app. The search screen lets users search for jokes and the More button shows the About and Settings page. iJoke users can setup push notifications to receive based on Tags, Authors, and Categories. Jokes are updated 3 times per day 5 days per week.
My overall opinion of the app is it is well programmed, looks good, and it does what is says it does. The developers claim the jokes are written by a professional comic writer who has written jokes for the likes of David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, and Craig Kilborn. So the jokes, and there are a ton of them, are short one to two liners that are sometimes a hit and sometimes a BIG miss. But humor is a funny thing. One person may crack up and something that someone else may find lame. So take a chance and check out the iJoke Daily app. You might just find yourself cracking up because of it.
