Back when RIM first announced the Blackberry Playbook, they also announced that in the future, a 4G LTE version of the device would be made available. A little over a year later and it looks like RIM could be keeping their word. Several images have popped up online via the Crackberry forums courtesy of user Fakedeadmau5, revealing what appears to be a 4G version of the Blackberry Playbook. He claims to have several 4G Playbooks in his possession, and in the other images leaked, there were images of a slot for a 4G micro SIM card along with an icon for “Mobile Network” and BBM, suggesting that RIM has finally made BBM available for Playbook tablets. Of course assuming all of this is to be believed, RIM could be making the much awaited announcement at Blackberry World in May. Granted this is a pretty big deal for their Playbook tablet, but we have to wonder if it will be enough to put RIM back on track.
