Every upgrade brings its own set of errors and bugs. The iOS 5 bugs are quite a proof of this. There are many iOS 5 problems being reported every day, but most of them center around a prominent few of them. The iOS 5, you might know, was released much before iPhone 4S actually – and can run on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch and iPads.
iOS 5 Bug – iPhone 4S Battery Problem: Of the iOS 5 issues that were hotly debated and discussed, the one prominent one was the iOS 5 battery life.
Apple has finally acknowledged it publicly that some iOS 5 bugs were causing the quick battery drain problem in iPhone 4S. Strangely, it is not yet clear if it is a simple software issue or a hardware one. If it’s software, it is going to be easy to rectify the iOS 5 bug, but if it is a hardware issue, then things are going to get a bit serious. (You may wish to how to improve iPhone 4S battery life.)
iOS 5 Bug – Outgoing Calls Silenced: In the hue and cry over the battery drain issue, some other iOS 5 issues went unnoticed until a while ago. For instance, iPhone 4S running iOS 5 seems to silence outgoing calls at random – with no immediate solution whatsoever. People make calls, and suddenly the call is silenced – and trying different troubleshooting methods doesn’t help either.
Reports say that users have tried connecting and disconnecting earphones, tried turning on the speakerphone – and a host of other ways – but to no avail.
Some reports link the battery drain issue with this call silencing. If that be the case, it might be software related – and that would relieve the engineers a bit.
There are other iOS 5 problems and bugs on other devices, too.
Most notably, these:
iOS 5 Bug – Disappearing Personal WiFi Hotspot: Out of the iOS 5 bugs reported last month, we had iPhone or iPod losing the WiFi hotspot suddenly and without any notice. If you use your iDevice as a hotspot – and if it suddenly disappears – that means you should look in the Settings tab to see if the Personal Hotspot is gone off. You can try resetting the Settings if the problem persists. This mostly seems to solve the issue.
iOS 5 Bug – Cover Art Lag in iPod. Slow Performance Speed: iPod Touch 4G running iOS 5 (upgraded or bought new with iOS 5 installed) is supposed to show lagging and slow loading. The cover art – for instance – seems to lag very much on iOS 5. Also lagging are YouTube and Safari on the devices – even after they are updated to the latest versions.
So far, as regards the latter, the issue seems to be either lack of space – as iPod users are well known to stack their iPods to the brim. However, you could try resetting, restarting and clearing the cache.
