Prisma Labs has updated its popular Prismaphoto editing app for iOS devices to offer offline processing of images. Previously, the app required an internet connection, as the app used Moscow-based servers to process images.
What’s New in Version 2.4
Prisma is now Offline! The majority of Prisma styles will no longer need an Internet connection.
Introducing charity styles! ‘Philanthropic’ styles are now available to Prisma users who can choose to not only have “a love” filter that is probably the most beautiful, but also to donate $1 to an Elbi charity. Make your content meaningful and let’s make the world a better place together <3
Currently, there isn’t an offline mode available for all of the app’s filters, but the developers say more offline filters are on the way. Server-side video manipulation is also said to be on the way. So stay tuned.
“Now that we’ve implemented neural networks right to the smartphones, we have enough server capacity to run full videos on them in the near future,” said the Prisma team. (Via MacRumors)
The developers say there should be no increase in battery drain over previous versions of the app, and image repainting times have been reduced to around five seconds on the latest models of the iPhone.
